What is Rotaract?
Rotaract stands for Rotary in Action. It is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by local Rotary clubs.
Modeled after the goals and standards of Rotary, Rotaract brings together college students and young professionals for humanitarian service, networking, building goodwill and promoting peace around the world. As one of the fastest-growing Rotary programs, Rotaract has a strong international presence and includes more than 8,400 Rotaract clubs in 170 countries.
Each Rotaract club is sponsored by a local Rotary club, and is generally either university- or community-based. Each chapter has its own unique personality, sometimes with special emphases. Like Rotary, Rotaract clubs meet on a regular basis, and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and welcome anyone interested in joining.
