It was a Sunday afternoon with “Laksa, Spanish omelet, Netherland meat ball, fusion dish of France and Martinique and chocolate pie”! Yes! We had them all at the same time while learning different cultures through tasting and having a better understanding about what lies beyond the savory tastes through the introduction from the recipes of our Auntie, guests, members, and OB members!
A little bit spicy Laksa made by Auntie Liz had everyone wake up from a lazy Sunday. It was hot but hard to forget the taste. While each of us was still enjoying the cuisine, the history of the Spanish omelet had already approached us to taste the authentic Spanish food from Alejandro! And, the unforgettable taste of the meat ball was the food of Netherland where the farmers had it especially in winter. Personally, to my surprise, the fusion dish of France and Martinique really makes my dream to cook French dish not that far away because of its simple steps! However, a dessert is always the favorite of girls and it is the sweet taste of the chocolate pie that lasts the happy memory till now!
Hopefully everyone can join ICOP next time; let’s explore more and more food from different countries and figure out those stories behind them!
